Insurances Welcome

  • We welcome dental insurance and are happy to file your claims as a courtesy.

  • Before treatment, we will provide an estimate of your insurance benefits and expected out-of-pocket costs based on the information available from your carrier.

    • If you choose to assign your insurance benefits to our office, our team will verify your benefits and determine your estimated patient responsibility before treatment and collect that amount at the time of your appointment.

  • Your dental insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. While we are happy to assist by filing claims and estimating benefits, you remain responsible for the cost of your treatment.

  • We will inform you of the estimated fees and payment required prior to treatment.

  • Payment is due at the time of treatment. We accept cash, checks, major credit cards, CareCredit®, and assignment of dental insurance benefits.

Understanding Your Insurance Benefits

Dental insurance can be confusing, and many patients are surprised to learn that insurance benefits are not always based on the actual fee charged by your dentist.

Most dental insurance companies determine reimbursement using their own arbitrarily developed fee schedules, which often differ from our office fees. Because of this, your insurance company may pay less than the percentage of coverage listed in your plan.

For example: If your plan states it pays 80% of treatment, that usually means 80% of the fee determined by your insurance company, not 80% of our actual office fee. As a result, your out-of-pocket expense may be greater than expected.

Additionally, some plans provide different levels of coverage for treatment performed by a specialist than by a general dentist.

While our team will gladly estimate your insurance benefits before treatment, all estimates are based on the information provided by your insurance company and are not a guarantee of payment. Your insurance carrier makes the final determination of benefits once your claim has been processed.

After Your Insurance Payment Is Processed

Once your insurance claim has been finalized and our office has received payment:

  • Any remaining patient balance will be billed to you.

  • If your insurance pays more than anticipated, any credit balance will be promptly refunded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all of your doctors in-network with my insurance?
Network participation varies by provider and insurance plan. Some of our doctors participate with select insurance plans, including Delta Dental and Cigna, while others may be out-of-network. Our team will verify your benefits before treatment and help you understand your coverage and expected out-of-pocket costs.

Why doesn't my insurance pay exactly 80%?

Most dental insurance companies calculate benefits using their own fee schedules, which often differ from our office fees. The range of insurance benefits usually falls between 30-100%, depending on the plan, with most between 50-80%. When your plan states it pays 80%, that percentage is usually applied to your insurance company's allowable fee, not necessarily the actual fee charged by our office.

Why do I have to pay before my insurance pays?

We collect your estimated patient portion at the time of treatment based on the information provided by your insurance company. Once your claim has been processed, we will either bill any remaining balance or promptly refund any overpayment.

Will you file my insurance claim?

Yes. As a courtesy, our office will electronically submit your claim to your insurance company and help maximize your available dental benefits. We are happy to answer questions and assist you throughout the claims process.

Is my insurance estimate guaranteed?

No. Any estimate we provide is based on the information available from your insurance company before treatment. Final payment is determined by your insurance carrier after your claim has been reviewed and processed.

Do dental specialists have different insurance coverage?

Sometimes. Many dental plans reimburse treatment performed by an endodontist differently than treatment provided by a general dentist. Coverage varies by plan, and our team will help you understand your expected benefits before treatment.

Can I finance my treatment?

Yes. We offer flexible financing through CareCredit® for qualified applicants. We also accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit cards.

Still have questions?

Our financial team is happy to explain your insurance benefits, estimate your out-of-pocket costs, and discuss payment options before treatment. We want you to feel informed and confident before your appointment.
